Alexis Goggins is a first-grader who was recently released from Children's Hospital in Detroit. She had spent several months recovering from gunshot wounds she suffered after she jumped in front of her mother to shield her from a gunman's assault. Alexis Goggins took six gunshots that would have struck her mother...I am in awe of Alexis Goggins for her tremendous act of heroism.
Few stories today really touch us. We have become hardened by the ever-demanding world and we tend to develop thick skins and harder hearts to help shield us from the cold-cruel world. My heart melted tonight as I read the story of this tiny girls tremendous bravery.
I must say I was deeply touched by the story of Alexis Goggins and I give her and this video that pays tribute to her amazing bravery a Best of the Internet Award.
Sadly, Alexis Goggins lost the sight in one eye and suffered brain damage that required surgery. Alexis Goggins is a true heroine in the truest sense of the word and I must admit that her story is the most-deeply moving I have ever heard.
